Mandela Day is internationally recognised and is celebrated every 18 July, our former late president’s birthday. People are encouraged to devote 67 minutes of their time to help others and/or support their local community. The symbolism of the 67 minutes is one minute for every year our Tata Madiba spent fighting for the rights of humanity.
Heritage day has to be one of my favourite days of the year. A day where all South Africans get together to celebrate our rich heritage and the diversity of our rainbow nation. Most of us celebrate this through uniting around a fire and having a good ‘ol braai with family and friends. This #HeritageDay, Durbanville Hills Wines is having a relaxed Braai Day on their estate. They welcome all Proudly South African souls to come enjoy the live music, breathtaking views, award-winning wine and of course, the delicious aroma of meat on the braai.
Durbanville Hills restaurant will be preparing a variety of gourmet boerewors rolls fresh from the braai at R35, each served with some creative, interesting toppings. They will also be open for breakfast and lunch offering an la carte menu. The tasting room will be open from 10.00 until 15.00 and live music will be available from 11.00 until 14.00.
Bring your family and friends and come enjoy this momentous day stretched-out under the olive grove with a glass of wine enjoying the panoramic vista of Table Mountain, the vineyards and rolling hills.
